Variance Vote at April Meeting
Wagenbrenner Development is planning to begin the final phase of the Harrison West Condominium development later this year. They are working through zoning and variance processes now and are requesting a letter from the Harrison West Society supporting 11 variances that will be required for construction. At its April 16, 2014 meeting, the society will vote either to support or not to support the variances. (Updated 4/24/14): The society voted to accept all variances.
At the January 15, 2014 society meeting, Rob Harris presented the plans for the development, which received an enthusiastic vote of support. In February, Harris returned to the society to request support for a fire lane that was requested by the Columbus Division of Fire. The fire lane passes through a small portion of Harrison Park but is designed to be invisible. The society voted to support a concealed fire lane through Harrison Park.
Harris will attend the April meeting to explain the variances and answer questions. If the society votes to support the variances, it will provide a letter to the city expressing its support.
