Summer Fridays at the Statehouse Open With Opera Columbus Performance

The 2013 Summer Fridays at the Statehouse open this Friday with a free performance from Opera Columbus.  The performance will take place from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. on the West steps (High Street side) of the Ohio Statehouse.

Opera Columbus will proudly present Puccini’s La Boheme.  This innovative, new collaboration between Opera Columbus and Shadowbox Live is designed to take opera out of a traditional theatre setting and transform it into an immersive, interactive, and highly accessible experience in a casual environment. It provides an introduction to opera for those who have no experience with the art form or who may not be inclined to attend a traditional opera performance in a theatre.

The Ohio Statehouse partnered with 13 central Ohio performing arts groups throughout the summer to present the sixth annual Summer Fridays at the Statehouse series.

The performance will be canceled in the event of inclement weather.  Up to the minute performance information about Summer Fridays at the Statehouse will be posted on the front page of the Ohio Statehouse Web site at www.ohiostatehouse.org.
