Celebrate the Restoration of the Olentangy River, September 4th
On Thursday, September 4th, join Mayor Michael B. Coleman, Councilmember Zach Klein, Public Utilities Director Greg Davies, Ohio EPA Assistant Director Laura Factor, Ohio State University, FLOW and HERO USA to celebrate the completion of the Olentangy River Restoration—5th Ave Dam Removal Project.
9:45am– If you would like to participate in a short paddle on the River, meet at Tuttle Park, 240 W. Oakland Ave. Please do not be late. To paddle, you must pre-register here by Sep- tember 2nd at 12noon. Seats are limited to the first 20-25 people to respond. If you choose to bring your own boat, please call 645-0815 for details. A shuttle will transport you back to your car after the event.
10:30am– If you do not want to paddle, but would like to join for the remarks; from the Battelle parking lot, walk either across 5th Ave or on the Olentangy Trail under 5th Ave to the overlook area along the Trail.
Non-boaters: Park in Battelle’s parking lot on the south side of 5th Ave between Olentangy River Road and Battelle Blvd. Heading westbound on 5th from Neil toward Olentangy River Road, the entrance will be on the left. Parking is on the west side of Battelle’s Shipping and Receiving warehouse. Or you can bike to the event on the Olentangy Greenway Trail.
