Permit Parking Changes Coming to West 2nd Avenue

no parking sign columbusResidents and employees who park on either side of West 2nd Avenue between Michigan Avenue and Oregon Avenue will need permit stickers or visitor hangtags starting the week of January 14, 2013. The new parking restriction, street sign shown to the left, is:

NO PARKING 5PM – 5AM EVERYDAY EXCEPT CITY PERMIT C. Permit C stickers are issued at the Parking Violations Bureau; click here for map and directions. Permits are valid on a yearly cycle starting in January, with fees prorated as follows:

January 1 to March 31 – $25
April 1 to June 30 – $20
July 1 to September 30 – $15
October 1 to December 31 – $10

You must apply in person and have the following:

• Current vehicle registration
• Photo identification, one of the following: Driver’s license, state
identification card, passport, military ID or BuckID card
• Residents – Applicants must have a copy of a current utility bill (natural gas, electricity, water), a lease or notarized letter from your landlord to verify residency
• Employees – Applicants must have a notarized letter from their employer

Columbus police officers will issue tickets and tow vehicles illegally parked 24 hours a day, seven days per week. The parking fine is $50 in addition to towing and daily storage fees.
