May is Street Sweeping Month in Harrison West

This is a friendly reminder to all Harrison West residents about the upcoming street sweeping taking place on Tuesday and Wednesday, May 13th and 14th, 2014. Be sure to check the signs on your street for the days you will need to clear your side of the street. Cars not moved during posted sweeping dates will be towed at the owner’s expense and other fines may apply.

During sweeping, debris is removed from the streets and then the street is scrubbed and rinsed. The purpose of sweeping streets is to remove dirt, litter and debris from curbs to prevent the materials from being washed by rain into storm sewers. Litter and debris washed into storm sewers subsequently is carried to our waterways.
