Fall 2013 Street Lighting Survey – Looking for Volunteers
Do you walk around our neighborhood at night and notice broken, missing, or malfunctioning street lights? So do your neighbors. Let’s work together to shed some light on these lighting issues!
I am looking for volunteers to dedicate 1 – 2 hours of their time during the week of October 27 – November 3. You will be assigned a section of the Short North to walk through at night and you will record all street lighting problems in that area. It’s a simple process – you record a few pieces of information about each “issue” either on a piece of paper or on your smart phone or tablet, and then I compile all of the information and send it to the City. Italian Village has done this for years and has always had great success with the City responding to input and fixing the lighting problems.
Please reply to me at info@shortnorthblockwatch.org by Monday, October 21 to let me know that you want to volunteer. Make sure to tell me what general area you’d like to cover if you have a preference. I will get back to all volunteers between October 22 and October 27 with their assigned coverage areas and information about how to record the data. If you and a friend want to do this together, I only need to hear from one of you. You will get to conduct your part of the survey at your own convenience, which will be convenient with busy schedules!
This is a volunteer opportunity that can really help out your neighborhood, making it feel safer and be safer. You also get to do it anytime during the week of October 27 – November 3, so you can work around your busy schedules!
Thank you,
—
