Parking Study – Presentation and Next Steps
Amanda Ford and Michael Liggett from the City of Columbus Department of Public Service presented findings of the Harrison West Phase II parking study which included the area of Harrison West between West Third Avenue and West First Avenue. Parking counts were collected in Fall 2024 and Spring 2025 to assess spill over (if any) after implementation of Phase I. The results, which are here, show that the majority of the area is still fine with minimal changes observed as the result of the Phase I permit parking plan. Nonetheless, the city has recommended to implement permit parking for the entire area between West Third Avenue and West Second Avenue. which will require residents to purchase permits. Permit C holders would be required to change to the HW permit, which has a 3 hour parking limit between 8 a.m. and 10 p.m., instead of restricted parking between 5 p.m. and 5 a.m. If you wish to comment on this proposal, you may submit comments now to Michael Liggett at MTLiggett@columbus.gov. The City of the Columbus will return to an upcoming Harrison West Society meeting for final approval or to further discuss options.
