SWACO To Hold Free Household Hazardous Waste Collection Events, Sept 28 and Oct 5, 2024

SWACO is partnering this fall with two local communities to keep Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) out of the Franklin County Sanitary Landfill by offering free drop-off events in different parts Central Ohio. SWACO contracts with Environmental Enterprises Incorporated to offer free residential recycling of HHW for Franklin County residents during these events.

GROVE CITY: September 28th from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. @ 3226 Kingston Avenue

WESTERVILLE: October 5th from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. @ 350 Park Meadow Road

MORE INFO: Households generate a wide range of poisonous, dangerous, flammable, and corrosive products, including lawn chemicals, solvents, household cleaners and pool chemicals. These materials should not be tossed out with household garbage but should be taken to a mobile collection event or SWACO’s HHW facility located at 645 E. 8th Avenue in Columbus (43201). SWACO recently expanded the permanent HHW facility’s operating hours to Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and on the first Saturday of every month from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
