Summer Walking Tour in Harrison West
Looking to learn something about the history of Columbus neighborhoods? Why not take a tour? The Columbus Landmarks Foundation’s Summer Walking Tour Series will focus on some of our most popular neighborhood tours and spans settlement villages to immigrant communities to our civic center. Tours last for approximately two hours and cover roughly 1–2 miles at a leisurely pace. Wear comfortable shoes and join us to discover the hidden gems of our Bicentennial City. Tickets are $10 for Columbus Landmarks members and $15 for non-members and should be purchased in advance.
If your interests lie particularly in our neighborhood, sign up for their tour of Harrison West on July 29 from 2–4 p.m. Where traditional and high tech meet, the old and the brand new of Harrison West is an interesting canvas to compare architectural styles in neighborhoods and to learn how “villages” and neighborhoods develop and evolve. Harrison West, distinctive from Victorian Village, the University District, and the Circles area will be a bit of an eye-opener for those people who have not ventured into the heart of the National Register’s Near North Historic District. Meet at Harrison Park Condos Community Center, 575 W. First Avenue.
Information and tickets for all the tours are available at the Columbus Landmarks Foundation Website.
