Resident Profile – Adam Michael Warren, 29

Adam, known as “A-war” to his friends, “escaped” to Columbus from Springfield, where he grew up, to find new opportunities and do something different. That was five years ago. These days, Adam rents a place in Harrison West and loves it. When he first came to Columbus, he lived on the north side with a friend but wanted to find a place closer to downtown and the North Market where he works. About a year ago, he found the perfect rental in Harrison West that is “ten minutes” from just about everything.

Adam works at North Market Poultry and Game, where he does “just about everything.” He’s the primary cook on Tuesdays and Thursdays creating the magnificent, home-style vittles for Kitchen Little, North Market Poultry and Game’s prepared-food operation. His specialty is the decadent mac & cheese that has garnered him a faithful following of lunch-seekers. On Wednesdays and Fridays, you can find him behind the counter chopping chickens and filling orders for customers at the poultry shop.

When he’s not at work, Adam might be found playing euchre, shooting hoops or riding his bike—the Olentangy River Greenway is just a stone’s throw from his house, after all. Adam also likes hanging out with friends at various bars “wherever there’s music playing.” And he doesn’t just cook for a living; he makes a mean homemade lasagna and can frequently be found manning the grill when the weather is nice.
