Columbus Food Adventures

From Street Food To Slow Food, New Tour Company To Promote Columbus As A Culinary Destination

COLUMBUS (July 8, 2010) — Columbus Food Adventures is pleased to announce that it will serve as Central Ohio’s first food tour operators, beginning service on July 27. Building on the burgeoning popularity of food tours and culinary tourism, it will offer guided, personalized experiences of the city’s most exciting food gems.

Columbus Food Adventures is owned and operated by Bethia Woolf, a prominent food blogger and chronicler of all things culinary in Columbus. Its tours will be built upon the concepts behind her three existing websites: alteatscolumbus.com, hungrywoolf.com, and tacotruckscolumbus.com. Each tour will include four to six stops at select local and independently owned businesses with samples of their best menu items.

In addition to food tastings and venue education, Columbus Food Adventures aims to provide an insider’s view of culinary Columbus.

“We have such an exciting, diverse food scene that I want to help show it off,” Bethia said. “Urban food tours are an exploding trend in larger cities, and it became obvious that Columbus needed a food tour business of its own.”

Initially, Columbus Food Adventures will offer three fixed tour itineraries: a Short North walking tour, a taco truck van tour, and an alt.eats.columbus van tour. Additional itineraries, including a microbrewery tour, German Village walking tour, and an ice-cream-lovers tour, will be announced later this summer. Seasonal and special event tours
will also be offered.

Tickets
Columbus Food Adventures offers both public ticketed tours and private group tours. Tours will be limited to a maximum of 14 people to emphasize dialogue and customer enjoyment. Tickets can be purchased at columbusfoodadventures.com and include transportation and all tastings.
