Goodale Park Public Art Project – Call for Artists
The Friends of Goodale Park, in cooperation with the City of Columbus and the Columbus Department of Recreation and Parks, invites artists, art teams, or design professionals to submit their qualifications for up to five public art installations in Goodale Park. This project will enhance the park’s character, create multiple destination points within the park, and contribute to the cultural and aesthetic enrichment of the community.
The selected artist or team will design, fabricate, and install a permanent outdoor public artwork in Goodale Park, located in the heart of Columbus. The proposed artwork should reflect the cultural identity of the area, complement the natural environment, and engage park visitors through creative expression. Columbus and other central Ohio artists are strongly encouraged to participate. Friends of Goodale in cooperation with the City of Columbus have identified 10 potential locations within Goodale Park for art installations. The artwork should be durable, safe, and low-maintenance, given its location in a public outdoor setting. The installations should integrate well with the surrounding landscape and infrastructure while offering a unique and visually compelling experience. The art will reside on city property and therefore will require the approval of several city offices. Please contact FGP Volunteer Coordinator Molly Winters at volunteer@goodalepark.org for follow up questions.
