Community Festival—Comfest 2011

Comfest 2011

Community Festival, or “Comfest” as it is commonly referred to among those who bask in its glory each summer, is a three-day counter-culture celebration of arts and crafts, music, food, alternative politics, hopefully sunshine (although the rainy days are legendary) and friends old and new. This year’s festival will take place June 24–26, 2011 in Goodale Park.

For the un-initiated, it can be somewhat overwhelming with six stages of music to choose from, hundreds of street vendors and food options from local restaurant offerings to fair fare. Goodale Park is transformed into a wonderland of folks sprawled out on the lawn or dancing in front of the stage and listening to the endless stream of bands while clad in their tie-dyed attire. It’s something everyone should experience at least once, and if you are fortunate enough to live in the Short North it’s just a short walk or bike ride away!
