Gas Line Upgrade Progress Update

As of April 18, 2025: Main Line – 39% Complete. Service Line – 17% Complete.

Columbia Gas contractors are currently installing new natural gas main and services lines in a portion of the Harrison West neighborhood south of West Second Ave. (see map). The next installation work will occur at Delaware and Harrison avenues. Once completed, the majority of the new main line south of West Second Avenue will have been installed with future work focusing on West Second Avenue and/or north of West Second Avenue within the project scope. Service line crews will continue to follow behind the main line crews and begin communicating with residents along newly installed main line. Please note, project contractor Northern Pipeline (NPL) will contact each resident individually to schedule work at their respective property. 

Most restoration you see currently is temporary in nature and will be permanently restored once all work in the area is completed (sidewalks, curbs, driveway aprons, lawns, etc.). The black, asphalt-like substance is a temporary hard surface restoration to make surfaces safe and passable while maintaining access to underground utilities. This is not permanent, and the concrete in these areas will be repoured. For soft surface areas, NPL utilizes a sub-contractor (Agroscapes) to complete all landscaping work.
