Red, White & Boom Street Closures and Parking Restrictions

columbus red white and boomTo ease the flow of heavy vehicle traffic, parking restrictions will be in place on numerous downtown streets before, during and immediately after Red, White & Boom. Most parking restrictions will go into effect at 6 a.m. on Wednesday, July 3, to allow motorists to park conveniently near downtown restaurants and other businesses on the evening of July 2. During the hours of parking restrictions, parking meters will be bagged and temporary No Parking signs will be posted where no meters exist.

 

No parking will be permitted on the following streets between 5 a.m. Monday, July 1, and 10 a.m. Thursday, July 4:
  • Washington Boulevard, between Broad Street and Rich Street
  • Civic Center Drive, between Broad Street and Mound Street
  • Town Street from Belle Street to Front Street
  • Rich Street from Civic Center Drive to Front Street
  • Ludlow Street from Town Street to Rich Street
 
No parking will be permitted on the following streets between 5 a.m., Tuesday, July 2, and 10 a.m. Thursday, July 4:
  • Nationwide Boulevard between Neil Avenue and Front Street
  • Marconi Boulevard between Nationwide Boulevard and West Street
  • Marconi Boulevard between Long Street and Broad Street
  • Long Street between Hocking Street and Marconi Boulevard
  • North Ludlow Street, between West Nationwide Boulevard and Ludlow’s dead end south of Nationwide Boulevard
On-street, handicapped-only parking will be provided beginning 6 a.m., Wednesday, July 3, through 2 a.m., Thursday July 4, at the following locations (violators not displaying a handicapped parking license plate or rear view mirror hang tag at these locations will be ticketed and towed):
  • West Gay Street, between North High and North Front Streets
  • West Mound Street, between South Front and Short Streets
  • West Town Street, between South Front and South Ludlow Streets
 
No parking will be permitted on the following streets between 6 a.m., Wednesday, July 3, and 10 a.m., Thursday, July 4 (no parking applies to both sides of streets unless otherwise designated):
  • North 3rd Street, between East Broad and East Nationwide Boulevard
  • (repeat)South 3rd Street, between East Broad and East Fulton Streets
  • South 4th Street, between East Broad and East Main Street
  • South 4th Street (west side of street only) East Main Street to Fulton Street
  • North 4th Street, between East Broad and East Naghten Street
  • South Belle Street, between West Broad and West Rich Streets
  • East Broad Street, between High Street and North 5th Street
  • East Broad Street (south side of street only), between North 5th Street and I-71
  • West Broad Street, between High Street and S.R. 315
  • North Front Street, between Nationwide Boulevard and West Broad Street
  • South Front Street, between West Broad Street and I-70
  • East Gay Street,(north side of street only) between North 3rd and North 4th Streets
  • East Long Street, between North High Street and Cleveland Avenue

  • East Rich Street, between South High Street and South 4th Street
  • West Rich Street, between South High Street and the Scioto River
  • Rush Alley, between South Belle and Lucas Streets
  • Starling Street, between West Broad and West Town Streets

  • West State Street, between South Belle and McDowell Streets
  • East Town Street (north side of street only), between South 3rd Street and South Grant Avenue

No parking will be permitted on the following streets between 1 p.m., Wednesday, July 3, and 10 a.m., Thursday, July 4:
  • North Front Street, between West Nationwide Boulevard and Vine Street
  • East Gay Street, between North High and North 3rd Streets
  • Park Street, between Vine Street and West Goodale Street
  • East Mount Street, between South High and Third Street, (north side of street only)
 
Street closures before, during and after Red, White & Boom will include:

  • West Broad Street (westbound curb lane only), between Cumberland Trail marker and Belle Street
  • Civic Center Drive, between West Broad and West Main Streets
  • West Long Street between Hocking Street and Marconi Boulevard (one lane will open for rush hour on Wednesday, July 3, between 6 a.m. and 9 a.m.)
  • Marconi Boulevard (two curb lanes only), between West Gay and West Broad Streets
  • Marconi Boulevard, between Nationwide Boulevard and West Locust Street
  • Marconi Boulevard, between West Long and West Broad Streets
  • West Nationwide Boulevard curb lanes only, eastbound and westbound, between Neil and North Ludlow Avenues
  • West Nationwide Boulevard, between Neil and South Ludlow Avenues
  • Washington Boulevard between West Broad and West Town Streets
  • 4 p.m. – 7 p.m., Wednesday, July 3 (for parade formation)
  • Belle Street, between West Broad and West Town Streets
  • West Broad Street (eastbound curb lanes only), between McDowell and Belle Streets
  • Rush Alley, between Starling and Belle Streets
  • Starling Street, between West Broad and West Town Streets
  • West State Street, between McDowell and Belle Streets

  • 5:50 p.m. – approximately 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, July 3:  For Parade

Motorists are reminded to be alert for pedestrians and bicyclists traveling to and from Red, White & Boom festivities. Motorists and bicyclists must obey all traffic laws and, by law, must share the road legally and safely. Bicyclists riding after sunset and before sunrise are required by law to have operational headlights, taillights and reflectors on their bikes.
