Columbus Landmarks Foundation – Old House DIY Workshops
The Columbus Landmark Foundation is hosting some Summer “Old House DIY Workshops” that may be of interest to those of you with homes in Harrison West or Victorian Village. Do you have an old window that has to be propped up? Or one that is slipping down? Is the glass cracked or missing? Learn how to fix those nagging problems at the Columbus Landmarks Foundation “Window Repair Workshop”, Saturday, July 20th, from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. At this hands-on workshop, conducted by A-Z Window Restoration & Centennial Preservation Group, learn:
- the identification of window parts
- how to take apart a window
- how to fix a sash cord
- how to re-glaze
Location: Hosted by the Jefferson Center for Learning and the Arts

Workshop fee is $10.00
Investigating and Troubleshooting Workshop
The Investigating and Troubleshooting workshop provides inspection tips for examining the roof, drainage system, masonry components, and wood components. Important safety issues, such as lead paint, will also be discussed. Whether you plan to make repairs yourself or hire a contractor, you’ll gain knowledge of old house materials and be better prepared to care for your home for years to come. If you’re thinking about purchasing a house, this workshop is for you too! Workshop fee is $5.
