Mary Funk: Funk-ee-town Playground

Mary Funk was a staple in Harrison West, so much so that the children’s playground in Harrison Park, Funk-ee-town Playground, was named after her. Mary was both Vice President and President of the Harrison West Society in addition to working for the city. She served in many roles and was known as the neighbor that could get things done. If there was a problem, Mary was the go-to that could solve it! Mary made Harrison West a better place to live and left a lasting legacy. Pictured here are Mary’s grandchildren and her husband, Roy.
