Dick Montgomery, Treasurer, Harrison West Society

When my wife, Carolyn, and I moved into Harrison West in 2007, we both wanted to get involved with the neighborhood. Carolyn’s son, David Butler, was formerly a resident of Harrison West and once served as president of the Harrison West Society. In 2008 when I was asked to be the unchallenged candidate for treasurer of the society, I really didn’t know what I was getting myself into. I’m glad now that I volunteered for the office.

It has been such a pleasure and honor to be part of the Harrison West Society leadership team. It has been equally wonderful to be associated with such dedicated and hard-working people. Decisions the team has made while I’ve been in office have been very rewarding. My work as the treasurer is just one contribution I have personally made.

I’ve learned so much about Harrison West since we’ve moved here. Harrison West has a rich and interesting history. Today we, as a society, are creating new history for our future residents by making vast improvements to the area. The new and wonderful Harrison Park is a prime example.

I am resigning from the office of treasurer at the end of my 2007–2008 term; Carolyn and I are relocating to North Fort Myers. Please consider running for the office. It doesn’t take much of your time, and it will give you great satisfaction to be part of the great Harrison West Society.
